life update // Sat 2/20

So I’ve been a little sporadic on here lately — but there’s so much to be done! We’re preparing for a March 11 move. That means a lot of video editing (me), packing (all Annette up to this point), wrapping up details, and planning our farewell tour of Ohio. We’ll be heading up to Columbus next weekend to visit some old friends, then on to New Philadelphia. We’ll be hitting a Cavs game (GOT to see Lebron before we leave, and possibly before he bolts Ohio!) with some of our dearest and closest friends. We’ll also be visiting our old church in New Phila for the last time in probably a very long time. Looking forward to seeing a lot of old friends one more time.

Read an awesome article this morning on being an “old” youth worker (http://ow.ly/18VwJ). I’m so excited to jump back into student ministry! It’s going to be a crazy adjustment, but I couldn’t be more certain that this is where God wants us, how he wants to use us, and the exact group of people he wants us to do it with. We’re so giddy about all the friendships we’re making already, and can’t wait to know and be known, to love and be loved! ECNC, here we come!!! (Elizabeth City, North Carolina for those of you wondering!)

Annette and I continue to be “24″ addicts. This week in particular we’ve been shredding through Season 2. One disc/4 hours left in this “day.” Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, mess with Jack Bauer! He’s got 19 lives! It’s fun to re-visit my childhood, and live in action-adventure land. It reminds me of how life is meant to be adventurous, by nature. By design — of God! When my life is void of adventure, it’s because I’m not fully walking with God or leaning into his heart. Soak up that truth for a minute — you may need it at some point. ;)

Not only have I been slacking in blogging, but in reading as well. I’ve been so focused on getting work done, and something’s had to give. I’ve also neglected working out. Again, some things have just had to take a back seat for a season. However — I did just finish another book. That makes 5 so far in 2010. My goal was ONE book a month, which quickly escalated to TWO a month. In either case, I’m ahead of pace! And halfway through book 6. I love this area of growth in my life! I can honestly say now that I really LOVE reading! And oh, after a couple days of slacking on my bible plan reading, I am now current. So I’m at 13.2% completed, for those of you keeping score at home.

Ok, time to enjoy a big breakfast with the family! I love Saturday mornings!
